We had so much fun watching a Mad Scientist, a Crazy Reptile Guy (who brought in an Anaconda and a live Alligator!), and doing super scary crafts. The kids also got stickers and free kids meals to Red Robin as they completed a certain number of books.

Libraries rule! I think being a libraianen would be the best career, if only it weren't for the abject poverty part.
Gosh! I have so many great childhood memories associate with our local library. I bet your kids will too.
Maybe I should have some kids so I can take 'em to the library?! :)
what, people still read real books?
some of our kids have really got into reading latly. its fun when they read a book i like or know and can talk about the story with them.
it looks like your library went to some trouble to make it neat. that is realy cool.
Yeah, the EA Library reading program is pretty popular because they make it so fun! The lady librarian who runs it learns everyone's names (like 70-80 kids participate, so that's quite a few names!) and she really puts her guts into making it the best it can be.
I keep telling myself that I should get my kids into the summer reading programs. I've started them a couple of times. Alas, another year and I didn't do it. It looks like fun!
If it makes you feel any better Renae, my kids are not in any sports or other activities (like Scouts) so the summer reading program was pretty much it for us this summer!
Looks like they had fun. Gotta love the library!
