Danger Boy? Kid Catastrophe? Where are you?!?

What has befallen our pint-sized heroes? Where could they be? Where is Tired Mom? Why is Paranoid Dad sleeping in? ;) What will we do? Stay tuned true-believers!

Danger Boy & the Dinosaur Room

Aunt Weesie moved to D.C. along with Ethan & Tyler, and we were bummed, but they did leave us a small consolation prize in the form of all their home improvement and decor from their old house. With many cans of paint, buckets, and the dinosaur wall border left behind Tired Mom and Danger Boy decided to make his room a little more prehistoric.

The green was a mix of three different colors, and the "prepasted" wall border was old so Tired Mom had to crack out the old wallpaper paste from a previous project, but it turned out great! The painting was first (with many questions from watching kids) and had to be done with a paint brush since the walls in the upstairs all have that horrible rough "texturizing".

The previous decor was a vague "wild theme" with ivy (not pictured) painted near the celing and flowers and green plants on the curtains. We bought these Diego jungle sheets for Christmas to go with that decor, and I think it blends well with the dinosaur theme.

Vance also has other animals on posters and prints all over the room.
In this picture you can see the nature theme curtains (that Danger Boy has had for years)
Sleep tight, Danger Boy, in your new Dinosaur Jungle Room ;)

Belated July 4th & Goodbye to the Super Cousins

So, we had a super fun July 4th going to see the fireworks in Troy with the cousins. The kids were good and watched the fun for the most part, but Vance got restless and went off to play in the field about halfway through the fireworks. In his defense, holy smokes that was a long fireworks!!! It lasted a good 45 minutes, though Granny claims it was closer to an hour.

They did (of course) fall asleep after the late night festivities. It was a bit nostalgic for Tired Mom since it was the last holiday we would get to hang out with the other Dynamic Duo, Ethan & Tyler before they moved to the East Coast. Aunt Weesie will also be sorely missed by Tired Mom :(

This was just a really cute picture of Kid Catastrophe doing her Tinkerbell impression while playing with the dollhouse at my cousin Liz's house (not to be confused with Aunt Liz's house of the Aunt Liz & Uncle John Super Couple).

Best Kids in the Store Award

We were in Shop N Save the other day (the little Shop N Save, as I call it) and the kids don't ride in the cart anymore, so I was doing my usual shouts of "don't touch that! come back! too far!" etc. to keep the kids in line and from wandering off with the first stranger who offers them candy. Seriously, Danger Boy would do this I think. Kid Catastrophe is not as friendly, or talkative, or freakishly trusting? Not sure what to call Danger Boy. Anyway, so at the checkout the store clerk says "I think your kids should get the best behaved kids in the store award today!" I was surprised, and I said so, but the other clerks were nodding their heads and smiling at my kids, so I guess it was true! Woot! Score one for Tired Mom.

In other cute kids news, Kid Catastrophe being the cute little 3 year old girl that she is says "Oopsie!" whenever something falls or when she's kissing me good night and she misses my cheek. It's so cute the way she says it in her lispy little 3 year old voice.

Vance continues his obsession with learning all the dinosaur names, and now I'm teaching him all the plant names too. He usually learns them after being told 2-3 times. He doesn't just recognize them in our yard either, he points them out when we see the plants he's learned in other people's yards too so I know he's not just memorizing where the plants are in our yard.
