Finding Super Powers for Super Spy

Super Spy - Glow Worm Extraordinaire! She tolerated the phototherapy blanket better than any baby her doctor had ever heard of. Just a day at the beach for Super Spy!
She also has the amazing ability to sit in a Boppy without crying so Tired Mom can actually eat with both hands!
Super spy is also Amazingly CALM for one of my babies! What a nice quality in a super baby!

Things are on the up...

Sorsha's bilirubin level was down from 16 yesterday to 13 today, so no phototherapy tonight. She goes back tomorrow and, if things are looking good, no more.

Vance and QQ are doing good. QQ can be moody about the baby, but Vance is over-exuberant to make up for it. :)

Mama goes solo tomorrow as I go back to work. ;( (Granny will be taking her and the baby to appointments though.)

The women folk from church have been fattening us up w/ yummy dinners.

Q & A w/ Sorsha

Let's see what our newest arrival thinks of things!

***Update*** Prayers are appreciated. We took Sorsha to the hospital today to check her jaundice level (bilirubin levels). If they are not lower tomorrow, she may be re-admitted to the hospital. :P I just want my baby to stay home.

Are you ready world?!? Meet SORSHA!

Yes dear readers the day has finally come: Sorsha Danielle was born via c-section at 10:41 on 4/21/10. She weighed 9 lbs. 2 oz. and measure in at 20". (She falls in the middle of the two other siblings: Vance at 9 lbs. 4 oz. and 21" and QQ at 9 lbs. 1 oz. and 19".) Everything went great and she is being a very agreeable baby!!!

Here's a brief overview of the day.

First off the family arrives at the hospital at 8:30 for the preliminaries.

Here is Mommy pre-op waiting and in good spirits.

Here is Sorsha ready to see the world and slightly grumpy.

Here is the happy family w/Mommy still suffering the affects of spinal block medication.

Here Sorsha meets some of her first fan: Grandma!

Sorsha now bestows her presence on Grandpa.

Proud Granny shows off the newest grandchild.

Aunt Annette and Uncle Matt holding the Her Royal Cuteness.

Will upload video later w/includes the dynamic duo of Danger Boy and Kid Catastrophe. Vance has been especially excited to see her and just loves to touch her. QQ likes to look at her a lot.

We are very grateful for all the prayers and visits that we have received. We are especially grateful to Father for such a wonderful child.

Poll on the Bump's name

Sorche is Gaelic for Sarah or Claire.

Solana means "sunshine" in Spanish. I am in the Solana camp. QQ was but she is much influence by Vance and Mommy too.

The present agreemen is that we wait to see what the baby looks like. The wife may just be humouring me there. ;)

So even if Washington is not listening, the Pucketts are! Make your voice heard!

Planting the Garden & Easter Misc.

For Family Home Evening tonight we planted the pumpkin patch, with some weeding and watering thrown in. We also took Kid Catastrophe's bird house from her lesson on Sunday (with the bird seed) and put peanut butter on it, stuck bird seed to it, and hung it on a large bush outside her window. We also made one for Danger Boy out of a pine cone to hang where he could see it out his window.

While I was putting the peanut butter on the little ornamental bird house Paranoid Dad asks, "Oh, does the peanut butter attract the birds?" Tired Mom says, "Uh, it will after I stick the bird seed to it." and then Tired Mom giggled at Paranoid Dad for a good 15 minutes. Sorry, I thought everyone knew that trick!

Easter was fun too with some candy, toys, and dressing up for the kids. We spent most of the day with Grandma and Grandpa.
We got a package full of goodies from Grandpa Butch and Grandma Joy in Idaho. It included a dinosaur game for Danger Boy and a Dora House for Kid Catastrophe. We also got some new books. We love books!

The kids loved the "cat toy" which was a weasel on an electronic ball. I think the kids and Nutmeg had an equally silly willy fun fun time.

Danger Boy Battles the Dentist

Danger Boy braved his first (and second follow up) dental appointment with a stout hear, and open mouth. His first visit, he took along his trusty dinosaur toys to help him battle the dentist (and got his reward in the form of plunder from the dentist's toy treasure test).

The second visit (with three cavities to fill) Danger Boy took along his faithful giraffe side kick, Geoffrey, to battle the drill and the dreaded needle. Tired Mom was afraid of bad reactions, so she forbade him the luxury of the laughing gas, but Danger Boy responded only with courage and a few "owies" from the pressure of the drill. Danger Boy came out of the battle without a scratch, and with some silver for his teeth!

Danger Boy showed his sense of humor in the below picture when Tired Mom was having a bad day (and showed off his new found reading and writing skills).

Kid Catastrophe was having a TIGER EARS kind of day recently. Too cute!

Explaining the Resurrection-Parenting Level:DIFFICULT!

" Good Friday is the day we celebrate when Jesus died on the cross. Easter Sunday is when we celebrate the day he came back to life." says Tired Mom.

"Jesus is going to visit us on Sunday? Can I sit on his lap?" says Danger Boy.

(Tired Mom goes into long explanation that takes about half an hour).
