Where Dinosaurs Go To Die and Other Recent Kidisms

I'm teaching Kid Catastrophe to say "I'm the best girl ever!". She said it after I told her to the other day and then she said "AND! I put candy in my mouth!" and she pointed at her big open mouth. I guess being the best means eating the most candy ;)

Danger Boy and Kid Catastrophe were playing in some dirt I had piled next to the garden today and KC was forming a hill as Vance gathered all the dinosaurs. Vance said "This is the mountain where our dinosaurs are going to die!" And KC just nodded her head vigorously like she was on board with that idea. (famous parent thought-"where do they get this stuff?" comes to mind)

I think it might have something to do with the movie we got from the library called "Dinosaur" (very original title) where a "carnosaur" is killed down a canyon.

New Mania Movie- The Little Mermaid

I'm glad Danger Boy has not discovered the phenomenon of "boy" movies. He is happily in a state of simultaneous rapture & obsession with the Little Mermaid (yes, the original from the 90's) along with Kid Catastrophe. Tired Mom should just enjoy this for now right ;)

Best Zoo Trip EVVEERR-- aka Geoffrey Visits the Zoo

Danger Boy's preschool class went to the St Louis Zoo this year again, and we had a ball. We only had 2 1/2 hours, so we had to narrow down which animals DB definitely wanted to see. He said Giraffes (duh!), rhinos, hippos, and hyenas (though the last animal kept changing since we saw lots of animals on the way).

Geoffrey had a great time with DB (according to DB, since Tired Mom does not speak giraffe). Geoffrey got a little tired on the bus, but then he got over it once we got to the zoo!

Geoffrey found lots of other giraffes to keep his attention, including a very colorful giraffe we saw right away at the Painted Giraffe Cafe.

We went straight for the real giraffes after that and Geoffrey got to make funny noises with his own kind.

Geoffrey seemed to prefer seeing the other animals and just having fun with his boy at the zoo. Perfect weather and great alone time with Danger Boy and Tired Mom Paranoid Dad would have liked to have come, but could not get off work :(

It's Official: Mud Season Has Started for Danger Boy & Kid Catastrophe

This is the bath after the dirtsy duo got done bathing. It was warm enough to play outside with jackets, and also warm enough to play in the wet dirt and puddles all over the yard. The kids helped Tired Mom mix dirt/peat moss/compost into the garden soil with little shovels as well, adding to the covering of mud.

We've been having great fun on Vance's Spring Break staying up later and having more time at night as a whole family. Tonight, for instance, the kids would usually be in bed before Paranoid Dad got back from his martial arts class. Instead, dad had a great time teaching the kids to play dominoes. QQ got dominoes for her birthday last month, and it was about time one of us taught them how to play!

Totally unrelated, but I just think QQ is cute the way she sits with her legs folded in on themselves. She sits this way all the time, so it must be comfortable!

Danger Boy Takes Flight

Tired Mom actually had a jobby job this week, and as such has been too tired to blog. Here's the report on the Transportation Parade...

The Transportation Parade and DB's school was a smashing success despite a brisk morning. Paranoid Dad's airplane design was not duplicated, but there were some equally cool designs.

Danger Boy had a great time, and Tired Mom & Kid Catastrophe had an equally fun time watching!

Of course, Kid Catastrophe had to have a turn in the airplane too ;)
