What We Are Watching....Over and Over and Over....

Walt Disney Pictures' Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas

The kids newest "mania" movie is "The Nightmare Before Christmas", which is kind of a half Halloween/half Christmas movie, so good timing on Erik's part to pop that in recently. I personally would have thought it would be too creepy for kids (hello! it's a Tim Burton movie!). I have owned this movie for like 10 years or something, that's why we had it laying around.

I guess Erik was right because Vance has been requesting this movie everyday for about 3 weeks straight. Quisqueya was humming something the other morning when I went get her out of her crib. It was "This is Halloween" from the movie. Too cute!

Vance loved Caillou for about 6 months, and then it just stopped. I liked Caillou at first, bu then the WHINY voice just would grate on me. And, his mom just seemed to cater to him when he would cry or whine, and it seemed like Vance would whine more because of Caillou whining. I never saw Caillou put in the corner, or anything, it was not realistic.

Aww, I LOVE to here my babies hum and sing. Especially when it's something silly like that which catches me off guard. And amen on the Caillou comments. I don't know a single parent who likes that kid. I like what my SIL Tiffany does. If she sees a kid acting in a way they shouldn't on tv, she'll say, "That boy needs a spanking." Or she'll just act completely shocked that a child would behave that way. I've started doing it too. It's a great idea, and now my kids will see someone misbehaving and say, "That kid needs a spanking." So funny.
